Americans aged 6 months and older are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine–including those who are pregnant, have allergies, or are immunocompromised.
The youth/adolescent vaccines for children aged 6 months - 11 years are available at St. Lawrence Health locations. Children do not have to be current patients at these locations to receive the vaccination–it is open to all children.
Adults can receive their COVID-19 vaccines at any St. Lawrence Health primary care location, or throughout the community.
St. Lawrence Health (SLH) officially closed its three North Country COVID-19 Testing Centers on Friday, April 14, 2023.
SLH had been operating Testing Centers at Gouverneur Hospital, on Market Street in Potsdam, and on Andrews Street in Massena since the height of the pandemic.
Over the last several months, however, SLH has seen a significant decline in volumes for its Testing Centers as COVID numbers in the county have declined. Most recently in response to the falling numbers, the NYS Department of Health removed the requirement for pre-operative COVID testing.
Patients who have a clinical need for COVID testing are still able to receive care through their SLH primary care physician, specialty provider, or Urgent Care facility. Please note: Urgent Care no longer conducts walk-in COVID testing.
