St. Lawrence Health surgeons perform routine and complex procedures, with a focus on minimally-invasive surgeries when appropriate. We have pioneered surgeries never before performed in the North Country, like the first laparoscopic adrenalectomy and the first knee surgery performed using custom 3-D printed replacements.
New to SLH in March 2023 is the da Vinci Xi Robotic Surgical System which can be used across a spectrum of minimally invasive surgical procedures. It has been optimized for multi-quadrant surgeries in the areas of gallbladder, hernia, colon cancer, gynecology, ENT, urology, and general surgery procedures. The surgeon is 100% in control of the robotic-assisted da Vinci System, which translates his/her hand movements into smaller, more precise movements of tiny instruments inside the patient’s body. The Xi System’s immersive 3D-HD vision system provides surgeons a highly magnified view, virtually extending their eyes and hands into the patient. The da Vinci Xi also allows surgeons to use smaller incisions decreasing our patient’s length of stay and recovery time, while increasing patient comfort during recovery.

Also new to SLH in the spring of 2023 is Stryker’s 1688 4K Surgical Video Camera System with fluorescence imaging and LED light sources. CPH is one of the first in the nation to have Stryker’s new SPY 4k scope technology. This system gives our surgeons crystal clear 4k imaging during laparoscopic surgical procedures.
