As an employee, you can see the impact of donor dollars firsthand. Each gift supports the advancement of innovative technologies, state-of-the-art equipment, and beneficial programs that ensure you, your loved-ones, friends, and neighbors have access to excellent care.
You can designate your gift to a specific area you feel passionate about supporting, and no minimum gift amount is required. Every dollar makes a difference and is greatly appreciated.
Ways to give:
For 16 years, employees of Canton-Potsdam Hospital (CPH) have donated to the EGG Fund, which supports projects and purchases equipment that are not within current department budgets.
Throughout the year, the EGG Committee members accept applications for projects or purchases of $1,000 or less, and they award funds based on the greatest need.
CPH employees can donate to the EGG Fund through payroll deduction, unused PTO hours, or by making a one-time gift. To give through payroll deduction, complete the pledge form and put EGG Fund as the designation.
The EGG Committee would like to congratulate the latest winners of the EGG Grant Awards in 2023:
- Behavioral Health
- Imaging
- Nutritional Services
- Patient Experience

A gift of a security, as opposed to a gift of cash, may provide additional tax and financial planning benefits. Gifts of securities include stocks, bonds, and mutual funds. Publicly traded securities are easy for the Foundation to receive and use.
A gift of appreciated securities that you have held for more than one year is frequently the most economical way to give. You will be eligible to take a federal income tax deduction equal to the fair market value of the stock on the date of the gift for up to 30 percent of your adjusted gross income and will avoid tax on the capital gain. Following is specific information about how to give securities or mutual fund shares to the St. Lawrence Health Foundation:
Securities are gifted to the St. Lawrence Health Foundation usually in one of three ways:

Leave a lasting legacy with the St. Lawrence Health Foundation; we understand the transformational power and lasting impact of a planned gift. More than 100 years ago, Henry P. Foster and Gilbert French each left a part of their legacy to establish a hospital in the Village of Potsdam. The Foster and French Society was created by the St. Lawrence Health Foundation to recognize the individuals, past and present, who have made a planned gift to St. Lawrence Health, creating a lasting legacy and improve access to high quality health care, close to home, for current and future generations.
